Portfolio Recovery & PMO Build
Challenge: Inherited a portfolio of 20+ concurrent projects, several already failing or at risk, with no consistent governance or reporting in place.
Action: Took ownership of the full portfolio, implemented recovery plans, restructured timelines, realigned resources, and built the organisation’s PMO from the ground up.
Result: Restored delivery confidence across the portfolio, with weekly RAG-status reporting to senior leadership and PMO frameworks that remained in use long after the engagement ended.
£1.5M Printer Estate Transformation & Windows 10 Rollout
Challenge: An outdated, high-cost printer estate and a legacy Windows 7 environment needed replacing without disrupting daily operations.
Action: Ran a full RFP/RFI evaluation for a £1.5M printer replacement programme, then led an organisation-wide Windows 10 and Device-as-a-Service rollout via Intune and Autopilot, selected through competitive tender.
Result: Identified £500K+ in savings on the printer programme, and reduced service desk demand by producing end-user adoption guides and video content.
Critical Infrastructure Upgrade for a Global Financial Exchange
Challenge: A major financial exchange needed a VMware upgrade across 250 hosts spanning multiple global datacentres, under strict information security and change-control requirements.
Action: Planned and delivered the upgrade programme end-to-end, coordinating across global teams while working within tight infosec and change-control constraints.
Result: Upgraded the full 250-host estate with no disruption to critical trading infrastructure. Also delivered firewall deployment and decommissioning work for multiple FinTech organisations with zero critical downtime.
Public Sector IT Estate Transition
Challenge: A local council needed its entire IT estate transitioned to a new provider, alongside a full hardware refresh across 13 public libraries, while maintaining service through high-profile public events.
Action: Led the health check, rebuild and migration of core infrastructure (Active Directory, AD Connect, ADFS and supporting security systems), replaced devices, printers and networking across all 13 library sites, and ran risk assessments for sensitive periods including local elections.
Result: Delivered a stable transition with weekly senior stakeholder reporting throughout, keeping public-facing services running without disruption during a politically sensitive period.
Retail Network Rollout & Cloud Migration
Challenge: A national retailer needed nationwide network installations delivered to a tight deadline, alongside a separate on-premises to Azure cloud migration for a major client.
Action: Coordinated third-party vendors and logistics to deliver network installations across multiple UK retail sites, while separately managing a full cloud migration programme with minimal business disruption.
Result: Both programmes delivered on schedule, with stakeholder alignment maintained across distributed teams and sites.
ERP Deployment for a UK University
Challenge: A university needed a new ERP system deployed without a repeatable delivery model in place for future rollouts.
Action: Designed and delivered the full project plan for the ERP deployment, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to baseline the approach from initiation through go-live.
Result: The project plan was adopted as the university’s standard template for future ERP deployments.
